My thoughts on AI

In this article, I am presenting my views on how AI should be used and all the facts that I believe. Feel free to leave a comment if you find any inappropriate statements or if there are other perspectives I might have missed.

I believe AI is simply a tool that can help people work faster, and it should not be used to replace human jobs. In other words, AI can be utilized to complete repetitive tasks efficiently.

What about generative AI? Yes, it's a useful tool for gaining a high-level understanding of a topic. However, for in-depth exploration, experimentation and reading documentation likely provide more comprehensive information. GPT models also rely on web information, filtered based on various factors such as the provided prompt or common findings on the web. If we compile a list of tasks AI assistants cannot perform—making friends, providing ethical perspectives, generating creative content, performing a Coldplay concert, or telling original jokes without internet searches—these all point to the realm of creativity, something that remains distinctly human.

Let's illustrate with an example: Suppose I enjoy playing the violin, and one day I want to play for my girlfriend. I'd play with happiness and emotion, perhaps tweaking notes to enhance the song's beauty. An AI robot, on the other hand, would merely play notes in a programmed sequence, lacking that personal touch or emotional connection. This, I believe, is a limitation of AI.

Do I think AI will replace jobs? I believe roles involving manual repetition will be affected, similar to how manual tasks like packing chips have been automated. However, jobs like driving, which require ethical decision-making, have not been significantly impacted by self-driving cars. Often, new technologies overpromise and underdeliver.

In my current job, where I focus on providing excellent customer service, AI cannot fully replace this kind of job. Understanding the nuances of each situation and customer is crucial in this field.

Am I worried about the AI era? Absolutely not. New inventions and discoveries will continue to occur. We, as humans, will never trust AI to govern because governance requires human strategic thinking and collaboration for the people.

In conclusion, regardless of your profession, if you excel at problem-solving creatively without simply copying others' ideas, AI cannot replace you.

Thank you.
